MEET MAPULE MAILE – INTERN FOR 2017

STYLE AFRICA INTERNS 2017MAPULE MAILE

What makes me proudly South African is our rich history, diversity, and culture which directs our lives or way of doing things including  our behaviour and social groups . When one is an African, learning every day comes as a package and that awakens and makes us the real people that we are. Our history cannot be diluted, even in the years of slavery, Africans stayed in their roots, which today we are knowledgeable of. Our forefathers have protected our being and today we are inventors, and originators in the fast moving trends and styles that makes the world enjoy and look more toward our country.

I am South African because I am rooted in authenticity and knowledge of self and of others.

WELCOME TO THE STYLE AFRICA INTERNSHIP FOR 2017 MAPULE

Currently completing her higher certificate in Fashion Design And Retail Buying at Damelin College, Mapule will be graduating in February.

Mapule’s love for fashion has always been there since her childhood, watching her grandmother who was a dressmaker working from home, has motivated Mapule to start something of her own, which is a fashion studio where she will design and manufacture custom made garments.  Mapule has been doing that for five years now and gained all the skills from her influencer (her grandmother). She decided to get a qualification to open her mind and expose herself as a young person and a creative, as well as open herself up for other opportunities in the fashion field. Mapule says;

Studying has made me want to explore possibilities.
